Ferrari will bring a distinctive new look to the 2026 United States Grand Prix, scheduled for October 23–25 at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.
The Italian team has unveiled a special livery for its SF-26, featuring graphics inspired by the technical drawings and engineering designs used in the development of Formula 1 cars.
Created in partnership with title sponsor HP, the initiative celebrates the work of the designers, engineers and technicians responsible for transforming an initial concept into a competitive racing machine.
Both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will run the one-off design throughout the Austin race weekend.
A Ferrari Inspired by Engineering Blueprints
The concept behind the livery reflects a fundamental stage in the creation of every Ferrari: the transition from an initial idea to a detailed engineering project and, ultimately, a fully developed Formula 1 car.
To illustrate this process, the Scuderia has incorporated graphics inspired by traditional technical blueprints into the SF-26’s bodywork.
Sketches, geometric lines and engineering details become part of the car’s visual identity, highlighting a development process that normally remains hidden beneath the bodywork.
The aim is to celebrate not only the finished racing car but also the extensive technical work required to achieve the performance demanded by modern Formula 1.
HP Technology Behind the Special Design
Creating the livery required close cooperation between Ferrari’s design department and HP specialists.
The graphics were produced using HP Latex printing technology, with a dedicated printing and application process developed to accommodate the complex surfaces of a Formula 1 car.
The materials underwent several checks to ensure they could withstand the temperatures, mechanical stresses and maintenance procedures encountered during a race weekend.
The project also involved Ferrari’s technical departments in Maranello and HP engineers based in Barcelona.
Alongside the two race cars, a special display car was created with an additional feature: selected graphic elements, normally invisible, glow blue when exposed to ultraviolet light.
This effect was developed specifically to demonstrate the possibilities offered by advanced printing technologies.
Ferrari Celebrates Creativity and Innovation
Silvia Cavallaro, Ferrari’s Head of Color and Trim, explained that the project was designed to tell the story of how a racing car evolves from its earliest concept into a finished machine.
The livery highlights the importance of creativity, technical development and engineering expertise, all of which are central to Ferrari’s identity.
The collaboration with HP made it possible to translate that concept into a design suitable for a competitive Formula 1 car without compromising the team’s operational requirements.
Leclerc and Hamilton will also wear special race suits for the occasion, featuring a predominantly white design that complements the SF-26’s new appearance.
Austin Set for a Weekend of Special F1 Liveries
Ferrari will not be the only team arriving in Texas with a different colour scheme.
Haas has already revealed a Godzilla-inspired livery, while Cadillac has introduced a design celebrating Texas heritage.
Mercedes will also feature a special appearance developed in collaboration with MANUFAKTUR, while Aston Martin will highlight its partnership with Cognizant.
For Ferrari, this will be its second commemorative livery of the 2026 season, following the special design used at Monza for the Italian Grand Prix.
Ferrari Targets a Strong Result in Austin
Beyond the visual changes, the United States Grand Prix represents an important opportunity for Ferrari to regain competitiveness.
The Maranello squad arrives in Austin aiming to close the gap to Mercedes, Red Bull and McLaren after a challenging period in which the SF-26 has struggled to deliver maximum performance, particularly in qualifying.
The Circuit of The Americas will provide a demanding test of the car’s capabilities, with its combination of high-speed corners, rapid direction changes and long straights.
The special livery will not affect the car’s performance, but it will accompany Ferrari during one of the most anticipated events in the closing stages of the championship.
For Leclerc and Hamilton, the objective remains unchanged: turn the work carried out at Maranello into competitive results and bring the SF-26 back towards the front of the field.
