The Borgo Panigale manufacturer won 17 out of 22 Grands Prix, claimed all three world titles, and achieved its second-best season ever in the premier class.

Marc Marquez stood out as the season’s star, winning 11 GPs and 14 Sprint Races. He secured the MotoGP World Championship with five rounds to spare and claimed his seventh premier-class title.

Despite his successes, part of the Italian public still treats Marquez coldly because of the 2015 events. At Mugello and Misano, fans often jeer at the Spanish rider. This tension became evident again in 2025, when the Mugello crowd booed Marquez during the Sprint Race victory celebrations, prompting Tardozzi to publicly defend him.

In a DAZN documentary dedicated to Marquez’s 2025 season, the Ducati executive revisited the moment:
“It was a very difficult moment for me because when I saw the Mugello grandstand, with over 50% of the people dressed in red, I felt great bitterness.”

Tardozzi emphasized that fans should not boo a rider of Marquez’s caliber, especially when he races a Ducati and wins the race:
“A rider like Marc, racing a Ducati at Mugello and winning, should not be booed. I’m really tired of this 2015 memory.”

He went further, urging fans to move on:
“Enough. You’re not a true motorcycle fan if you keep living in the past. After ten years, it’s time to stop.”

According to Tardozzi, both sides share responsibility for what happened in 2015:
“Marc made mistakes, and Valentino Rossi made mistakes. That’s why I say: enough, really.”

Tardozzi’s message clearly aims to close a still-open wound in the MotoGP world and promote sporting respect and the values of competition.

Ducati Lenovo Team manager Davide Tardozzi has again addressed the boos that fans directed at Marc Marquez during the Italian Grand Prix, calling them “a very difficult moment” and expressing his discomfort at seeing, ten years later, the tensions from the famous 2015 clash with Valentino Rossi resurface.
