The Italian Aprilia rider crossed the finish line ahead of Raúl Fernández and Jorge Martín, while Ai Ogura completed an unprecedented top-four sweep for the Noale manufacturer.

The victory allows Bezzecchi to reduce his deficit in the World Championship standings to 46 points, keeping his title hopes alive. Meanwhile, Jorge Martín regains the championship lead, moving two points ahead of Marc Márquez, who endured a difficult race and finished sixth.

Fernández Sets the Pace in the Opening Stages

The race began in demanding conditions, with air temperatures reaching 31°C and track temperatures climbing to 56°C. Every rider opted for the same tyre combination, choosing a soft front and medium rear, making tyre management a crucial factor over the race distance.

Aleix Espargaró, who had been called up to replace the injured Joan Mir at the factory Honda team, was unable to start due to lingering pain from injuries sustained during a testing crash.

When the lights went out, Bezzecchi attempted to challenge Raúl Fernández for the lead, but the Trackhouse rider responded with stronger acceleration to retain first place. Behind them, Marc Márquez moved into third ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio, Fermín Aldeguer and Jorge Martín.

Fernández immediately established a strong pace, building a gap of approximately one second within the opening two laps. Martín, meanwhile, made rapid progress through the field, overtaking Di Giannantonio and then Márquez to move into third position.

Several riders saw their races end prematurely. Aldeguer crashed at Turn 16, suffering his fourth fall of the weekend, while Jack Miller went down in the opening sector. Francesco Bagnaia also endured another disappointing afternoon, crashing at the final corner while attempting to recover positions from further down the order.

Márquez Struggles as Acosta and Ogura Fight Back

With Fernández and Bezzecchi firmly established in the leading positions, attention shifted to the battle behind them.

Marc Márquez struggled to maintain the pace required to defend a podium position, with his Ducati proving particularly difficult to manage under braking.

Pedro Acosta took advantage of the situation to overtake Márquez at Turn 10. However, the KTM rider encountered tyre-pressure issues of his own, leading to a series of position changes between the two Spaniards.

As the race entered its second half, Ai Ogura emerged as one of the strongest riders on track. The Japanese Trackhouse Aprilia rider steadily closed the gap, overtaking Álex Márquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio before joining the battle for fourth place.

Ogura continued his charge in the closing laps, eventually passing both Marc Márquez and Acosta to secure a valuable fourth-place finish and complete Aprilia’s remarkable result.

Further down the order, the Ducati riders continued to struggle with rear tyre performance. Di Giannantonio gradually lost pace, allowing Álex Márquez to recover a position.

Bezzecchi Makes the Decisive Move with Eight Laps Remaining

At the front, the battle for victory remained open until the closing stages.

Fernández had led confidently despite racing with a fractured index finger on his right hand, an injury that forced him to operate the front brake using his middle finger.

After carefully managing the gap during the first half of the race, Bezzecchi gradually increased his pace and closed in on the Spaniard.

The decisive moment came with eight laps remaining, when the Italian launched an attack at Turn 1 and moved into the lead.

Fernández attempted to respond but ran slightly wide, losing valuable ground. Bezzecchi immediately capitalised, extending his advantage and setting the fastest lap of the race.

From that point onwards, the Italian controlled proceedings without making any mistakes, crossing the finish line ahead of the Trackhouse rider.

It was Bezzecchi’s first victory since the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello in late May.

The result also marked the 300th victory by an Italian rider in the premier class of motorcycle Grand Prix racing.

Aprilia Dominates as Martín Regains Championship Lead

Behind the leading pair, Jorge Martín completed a solid race to finish third.

After overtaking Márquez in the early stages, the Spaniard maintained a consistent pace throughout the race. Although he was unable to challenge for victory, his podium finish proved particularly significant for the championship standings.

Ai Ogura’s fourth-place finish completed a historic achievement for Aprilia, with four RS-GP machines occupying the first four positions. The result underlined the manufacturer’s outstanding competitiveness at Mandalika.

Pedro Acosta finished fifth ahead of Marc Márquez. The Ducati rider finally managed to complete a full-length MotoGP race at the Indonesian circuit, but his sixth-place finish was not enough to retain the championship lead.

Martín now heads the standings by just two points, setting up an increasingly intense title battle.

For Bezzecchi, the victory represents far more than another Grand Prix success. Although his 46-point deficit remains substantial, the result keeps him firmly in contention as the championship approaches its final rounds.

The Indonesian Grand Prix therefore ended with Aprilia celebrating an unprecedented achievement, while the fight for the MotoGP World Championship remains wide open.

Marco Bezzecchi returned to winning ways at the Indonesian MotoGP Grand Prix, delivering an impressive performance at the Mandalika International Circuit.
