The Ducati rider managed the race perfectly after a fierce battle in the opening stages, then increased the pace to secure another important success in the 2026 championship fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The result is particularly significant for the title race. Jorge Mart\u00edn finished only fifth and now leads M\u00e1rquez by just 19 points. Bezzecchi remains third in the standings, 24 points behind the championship leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For M\u00e1rquez, Arag\u00f3n remains a special venue. This was his eighth victory at MotorLand, a circuit where he has enjoyed remarkable success throughout his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The race took place under hot conditions, with temperatures reaching 31\u00b0C in the air and 51\u00b0C on the track. All riders opted for medium tyres both at the front and rear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
M\u00e1rquez initially appeared to have taken the lead into Turn 1, but Bezzecchi immediately fought back and reclaimed the position under acceleration through Turn 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Aprilia bikes made an excellent start, with Mart\u00edn also managing to overtake M\u00e1rquez. \u00c1lex M\u00e1rquez had a more difficult opening lap, losing positions to Acosta and Ra\u00fal Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Marc quickly responded. The Ducati rider overtook Mart\u00edn and remained within striking distance of Bezzecchi, while Acosta also joined the battle at the front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The leading group remained extremely close during the first half of the race. M\u00e1rquez eventually closed in on Bezzecchi and launched an attack at Turn 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bezzecchi stayed alongside him on the following straight, but M\u00e1rquez managed to hold the position. Acosta then produced one of the most spectacular moves of the race, diving between M\u00e1rquez and Bezzecchi at the final corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The KTM rider immediately began putting pressure on M\u00e1rquez. Acosta’s pace was impressive, keeping alive his hopes of claiming his maiden MotoGP victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Behind them, \u00c1lex M\u00e1rquez began to lose contact with the leaders, while Bezzecchi remained firmly in contention for the podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Francesco Bagnaia’s difficult 2026 season continued with another crash. The Ducati rider had recovered to seventh place before crashing at the Corkscrew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Franco Morbidelli also suffered a crash, while Ra\u00fal Fern\u00e1ndez was forced to retire because of a technical problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jorge Mart\u00edn was unable to fight for the podium and eventually finished fifth. That result proved costly in the championship standings, as M\u00e1rquez significantly reduced the gap to the championship leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decisive moment came with ten laps remaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
M\u00e1rquez increased the pace dramatically, setting two consecutive laps below the 1:47 mark. Acosta could not match the Ducati rider’s pace and the gap quickly grew to eight tenths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The KTM rider was then forced to start managing the threat from Bezzecchi behind him rather than focusing entirely on M\u00e1rquez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
M\u00e1rquez continued to push, completing four consecutive laps in the 1:46s before having a small moment at Turn 14. With a comfortable advantage, the Ducati rider wisely decided not to take unnecessary risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With six laps remaining, M\u00e1rquez had extended his lead over Acosta to 1.5 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From that point onwards, the outcome was effectively decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
M\u00e1rquez crossed the finish line first to claim another important MotoGP victory, with Acosta second and Bezzecchi completing the podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was M\u00e1rquez’s eighth victory at MotorLand Arag\u00f3n, a circuit where he has established himself as the dominant rider of the modern era. He also remains unbeaten at the Spanish track since joining Ducati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More importantly, the victory has transformed the championship battle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mart\u00edn’s fifth-place finish leaves him only 19 points ahead of M\u00e1rquez, while Bezzecchi is just 24 points from the lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
