Marco Bezzecchi returns to the top spot in MotoGP in the most spectacular way possible. The Italian rider takes pole position at the MotorLand Aragon circuit with a new track record of\u00a01:44.962, beating Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was a superb performance from Bezzecchi, who ends a wait of around three months for another pole position. Aragon is also the\u00a011th circuit\u00a0where the Italian rider has managed to secure pole position in qualifying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Marc Marquez therefore has to settle for second place after being beaten by a brilliant Bezzecchi. The Spanish rider will start from the front row alongside his brother Alex, who set the third-fastest time. The two Marquez brothers will now have to chase the Italian rider in this afternoon\u2019s Sprint Race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Behind the top three, qualifying proved to be highly competitive and was also marked by several crashes. In Q1, Diogo Moreira went into the gravel after initially setting the fastest time, while Pedro Acosta was also involved in a crash that brought out the yellow flags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the decisive session, however, Bezzecchi stole the spotlight.
