The defining moment came in the closing stages when Charles Leclerc, the home favourite and strong contender for pole, lost control of his Ferrari while pushing for an improvement and crashed into the barriers. The incident abruptly ended his session and effectively ruled him out of contention for pole position, turning what could have been a home celebration into disappointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Antonelli, however, remained composed under intense pressure. The young Italian executed his lap with precision and consistency, extracting maximum performance from his Mercedes around the demanding street circuit, where any mistake is heavily punished. His final time proved enough to secure P1 by a razor-thin margin over his closest rivals, underlining the extremely close fight between Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Verstappen finished second after a strong but ultimately insufficient lap to beat the Mercedes driver, while Hamilton completed the second row with another solid performance in what has been a highly competitive weekend for Ferrari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite his crash, Leclerc is expected to retain a respectable grid position, but he now faces a difficult recovery drive on the narrow streets of Monaco, where overtaking opportunities are extremely limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
