Marco Bezzecchi claimed pole position with a stunning lap of 1:43.921, securing not only the top spot on the grid but also becoming the first rider in MotoGP history to break the 1:44 barrier at the Tuscan circuit.

The Noale-based manufacturer enjoyed a dream session, locking out the entire front row. Behind Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez will start second after an impressive performance that began in Q1, while reigning world champion Jorge Martin completed a historic Aprilia one-two-three by setting the third-fastest time.

Ducati had to settle for the second row. Marc Marquez, returning after the injury that forced him to miss the last rounds, finished fourth thanks to an excellent final flying lap. The Spaniard will line up alongside Fermin Aldeguer and Francesco Bagnaia, who was unable to find the perfect lap in front of his home crowd to challenge for pole position.

Among the most anticipated riders was Fabio Di Giannantonio, who had topped both Friday’s and Saturday morning’s sessions. However, the VR46 rider could not replicate that pace in qualifying and will start from seventh on the grid. Behind him were Brazilian rookie Diogo Moreira, Franco Morbidelli, and Pedro Acosta.

Further back, Enea Bastianini qualified eleventh, while Fabio Quartararo endured a particularly difficult session, failing to advance from Q1 and having to settle for eighteenth on the grid. Qualifying was also challenging for Toprak Razgatlioglu, who finished twentieth.

In addition to Bezzecchi’s pole position, Saturday at Mugello also produced a new MotoGP speed record. Jorge Martin reached 368.6 km/h on the circuit’s long main straight, setting a new all-time benchmark for the premier class.

With Aprilia occupying the entire front row and Ducati facing an uphill battle, both the Sprint Race and the Grand Prix promise plenty of excitement in front of a packed Mugello crowd.

QualifyingResultsDownload

Mugello was painted in Aprilia colors during qualifying for the 2026 MotoGP Italian Grand Prix.
