Formula 1 arrives in Monaco for one of the most prestigious and eagerly awaited events on the calendar. The 2026 Monaco Grand Prix marks the sixth round of the World Championship and promises plenty of action on the narrow streets of Monte Carlo, a venue that has produced some of the most iconic moments in the sport’s history.
Much of the attention is focused on Mercedes, which has dominated the opening phase of the season. Leading the championship standings is young Italian sensation Kimi Antonelli, who holds a 43-point advantage over teammate George Russell. Following the tensions that emerged during the most recent round in Canada, the demanding Monaco street circuit could provide another chapter in the growing intra-team battle.
Monaco has always represented a unique challenge in Formula 1. The lack of run-off areas, the proximity of the barriers and the extreme difficulty of overtaking make Saturday’s qualifying session one of the most important moments of the entire weekend, often determining the outcome of the race itself.
