The 2025 MotoGP season shows no signs of slowing down. The San Marino Grand Prix is ready to host the 16th round of the year after a thrilling weekend in Barcelona, where Marc Márquez lost his perfect streak to his brother Álex Márquez, who came out on top in Sunday’s race at Montmeló.
Marc Márquez now arrives at one of his favorite tracks. The eight-time world champion knows what it takes to win at the Misano Marco Simoncelli circuit, having done so on eight occasions, most recently in 2024. Despite securing his eighth consecutive sprint victory, he will be determined to return to the top step of the podium in the long races, after Álex Márquez celebrated his second Sunday triumph of the season.
MotoGP World Championship 2025
Marc’s win at home on Saturday was not enough to extend his lead comfortably in the championship. The Márquez brothers are now separated by 182 points in the standings. Meanwhile, Pecco Bagnaia endured one of his toughest weekends of the season. A 21st place qualifying left him struggling throughout the round, and he now sits 250 points adrift of the championship leader.
