Trackhouse Aprilia is changing its look for the upcoming MotoGP rounds with a striking new Gulf special livery inspired by the legendary Ford GT40, one of the most iconic cars in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The new colour scheme will make its debut at the Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika before returning at the following round in Sepang, Malaysia. Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez will race with the special design on their Aprilia RS-GP 26 machines.
A Tribute to Gulf’s Racing Heritage
The livery has been created to celebrate Gulf’s 125th anniversary and pays direct tribute to some of the most famous chapters in motorsport history.
Its main inspiration comes from the Gulf-liveried Ford GT40s that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1968 and 1969. Even the race-number graphics have been given a deliberately classic appearance to reinforce the connection with the cars that made the Gulf colour scheme legendary.
For Trackhouse, this marks a return to Gulf colours after a previous appearance at Mugello, although this new design has an even stronger link with the heritage of endurance racing.
Justin Marks: A Design with Strong Historical Meaning
Trackhouse owner Justin Marks has explained that the legendary Le Mans battles involving cars such as the Ford GT40 and Porsche 917 played an important role in shaping his passion for motorsport.
For that reason, seeing modern MotoGP Aprilias reinterpret one of the most recognisable liveries in racing history makes this project particularly meaningful for Marks.
Gulf has also highlighted the importance of the initiative, which aims to celebrate both the brand’s historic motorsport legacy and its future through the partnership with Trackhouse.
Ogura and Fernandez Ready for Mandalika
Beyond the visual impact, Trackhouse will naturally be targeting strong results on track.
Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez arrive at the Indonesian round sitting fifth and seventh respectively in the MotoGP World Championship standings.
Mandalika is also an encouraging venue for Aprilia following its strong performances at the circuit last season, when Fernandez managed to secure his first Sprint podium.
The combination of the modern Aprilia RS-GP and one of the most iconic colour schemes in endurance racing history is set to make the Trackhouse bikes two of the most distinctive machines on the MotoGP grid in Indonesia and Malaysia.
