Nicolò Bulega continues to rewrite the history books in WorldSBK, delivering yet another flawless weekend at the Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary. The Ducati rider extended his extraordinary winning streak with victories in both Race 1 and the Superpole Race, reinforcing his absolute dominance in the 2026 season.
Race 1: Record-Breaking 14th Consecutive Win
On Saturday, Bulega delivered a masterclass in Race 1, converting pole position into his 14th consecutive WorldSBK victory. Despite early pressure and a chaotic start behind him, the Italian quickly established control of the race, building a gap that his rivals could not close.
Behind him, teammate Iker Lecuona mounted an impressive recovery drive after starting further down the grid, eventually finishing second, around 2.5 seconds behind. Miguel Oliveira completed the podium for BMW after a solid and consistent performance, while Yari Montella and Álvaro Bautista followed in the top five.
The result marked a historic milestone: Bulega surpassed previous records in the championship, surpassing the 13-race winning streak that had stood as the benchmark at WorldSBK level.
Superpole Race: 15 in a Row After Red Flag Drama
On Sunday, the Italian extended his streak even further, winning the Superpole Race to reach 15 consecutive victories. The short race was heavily affected by an early red flag following multiple incidents in the opening lap, including a multi-rider crash involving Miguel Oliveira and Andrea Locatelli.
After the restart, Bulega once again proved untouchable. Even though he briefly lost positions in the confusion of the first start, he quickly recovered, taking control and finishing ahead of Lecuona once more. The Ducati duo continued their strong form, while Lorenzo Baldassarri completed the podium.
A Season of Total Dominance
Bulega’s performance at Balaton Park confirms a season of near-total supremacy. With both race pace and qualifying speed unmatched, he continues to extend his record streak, now reaching 15 consecutive WorldSBK wins and counting.
His consistency has placed him far ahead in the championship standings, while also establishing him as the clear reference point of the 2026 season. Even within his own team, Lecuona remains the closest challenger, but still unable to disrupt the Italian’s momentum.
The Hungarian round will be remembered as another defining chapter in Bulega’s career. With each passing race, he continues to set new benchmarks in WorldSBK history, and the question is no longer if he can be beaten—but when, or by whom.
